As the pumps were only designed to function with the set chosen by the pump manufacturer, hospitals could not take advantage of competing IV sets which were more cost-effective or better quality.

By designing unique IV pumps which accommodate various standard sets, Plenum Technologies's broke the monopoly and opened up a spectrum of new choices for the medical community. Plenum Technologies's Infusion systems can be programmed for the full range of IV parameters, and easily adapt to different patient requirements even in the middle of IV procedures. In addition, Plenum Technologies's customers can purchase IV volumetric pumps which instantly recalibrate to suit multiple IV sets, a procedure which once required a special technician in a costly and time-consuming process.
